NEWS : September 18th
So I went to the Threadless retail store opening party on Friday night... had drinks with the Threadless guys... woke up at a friend's house completely hung over... and didn't start this weekend's painting until Saturday night. In the end, it's Monday, and it's not even half done, and my flowers will wilt by the time I sit down at the painting again. Good thing I'm almost done with the flowers part of it! Gah. So, in the end, Threadless ate my painting...

I thought that I should take a moment and enlighten you (in case you care) on my art selling philosophy. And it is... *drumroll*
I do not draw to sell. I sell to draw.
There are a few reasons for this. Most of them in some way tie to conservation of resources. A variant on Newton's Laws if you will, though they're more guidelines than laws. I present them below.
Rule #1. Conservation of paper.
I do not have any room to store my art. And unused paper stores a helluva lot easier than paintings and drawings. Thus, I have to (roughly) get rid of, in whatever way I see fit, of about as much volume of art as I create. This is why I would ideally like to move ALL of my inventory.
Rule #2. Conservation of money.
Art is a hobby, not a profession for me. Therefore, my art must procure enough funds for me to purchase additional supplies. Preferably, the art that is sold should be created with the supplies that are purchased with the money.
Rule #3. Conservation of effort.
I do not believe that I should give someone my art without getting something in return. That something does not have to be money. It can be any form of effort on the part of the receiver that makes me, the artist, understand that my art is appreciated. Sadly, most people can only express their appreciation with money. Someone who receives my art for free simply does not appreciate it. If you ever wanted free art from me, and I refused it, know that this is why I don't give my art away.
This is it. These are my rules. This is why I sell my art. This is also why you'll rarely find me making more than 1-2 prints of any piece (that, and I don't own a printer ^_~ ).
If you'd like to help me clear some shelf space, please look around my webpage for artwork that is available for sale. I give away a free sketch with every purchase. And if you're interested in anything here on DA or on my personal gallery that doesn't have a price tag (and you do not see the word "SOLD" next to it) contact me with an offer. If I have it, I am more than happy to sell it for a fair price.
FABULOUS Prints on Canvas Paper
These things have
excellent color, they're 8.5 x 11 inches with a tiny white margin (but would fit very well in a mat with an 8 by 10 inch opening), and the
canvas texture adds such a lovely touch to the prints, they really do look fabulous!
And the best part is, they're $10 just like my regular prints! I only have a couple such prints of each image, so get yours while they're here!
These are entirely on a first-come-first-serve basis.
I will keep the list as up-to-date as possible.
Shipping is $5 within US.
Note me to order.
