This month's MGC theme was "Black and White", and I've been looking at so much beautiful rendered b/w artwork here on DA, that I was inspired to do my own piece.

I was originally going to just submit One of the Crows to MGC for this month, but two days before the deadline, I realized that I really want to do a fully rendered, tradtional ink piece, with a full background and a detailed outfit.

thank you very much ^_^ filling in all those black areas was a little bit of a pain, but i'm very happy with the result. especially since it's actually a rich and velvety black irl, and there are barely any streaks ^_^

i have these faber castel ink pens.. they came in a set of S F M and B (superfine fine medium and brush) and i did the outlines in S, filled in the areas in F (i lost the M) and then went over the black areas with B to even out the black and make it rich and velvety. ^_^

well, it's hard to make tutorials on the kind of stuff that i do because all my "technique" can be summarized in a paragraph. i just inked... there's nothing more to it. :)
